CBT Training London
The key thing to remember is that a CBT training course is not a test, there are no formal exams, you are trained!
CBT was introduced in December 1990 with the aim of improving road safety and reducing motorcycle accidents.
All learner motorcycle and learner moped riders must successfully complete a CBT course before riding on the road, the only exception being if you have passed your car driving test before 1 February 2001, then you are able to ride a 50cc moped restricted to 30 mph on that licence without having to obtain a CBT.
Our CBT course contains all the requirements laid down by the Department of Transport, and combines these with a whole range of additional information to ensure a complete understanding of basic motorcycling skills and forms the basis of safe and enjoyable motorcycling for life.
Is the CBT for you?
The course is designed for the beginner. It is a training course and not a test, so don’t worry if you have never ridden a motorcycle/moped – this course is designed for YOU!
Once you have successfully completed your CBT, you will be issued a DL196 (CBT) certificate which will allow you to ride up to 125cc (if you are 17 and over).
You must display L-plates and you may not carry passengers and the CBT certificate lasts for two years. If in that time you have not taken and passed a practical test you have to take another CBT course.
What are the requirements?
In order for you to do your CBT training you will be need to meet the following requirements:
- Be 16 years old, or over.
- Have both parts of your UK driving licence (EU licences must be accompanied by a UK counterpart).

Absolutely amazing!! Was very nervous in the beginning but the instructors are super friendly and calm when you’re not! Recommend it to everyone.
A friend and I did a CBT here with Nick and it was great, he’s calm, knowledegable, good natured and we passed fine and had fun whilst doing it. Would recommend for CBT or DAS.
